Business Support Manager
Position Summary
Will manage the overall purchasing function for production products, services, MRO and assist in the new product process; interact with groups such as engineering, sales, manufacturing, and accounting.
Primary Responsibilities
- Outsourcing/supplier consolidation
- Contract negotiation and cost reduction activities.
- Overseeing purchasing of supplies and raw materials to support the business
- Create safety stock levels based on input from scheduling to supply manufacturing with material timely.
- Overall vendor management; creation of new suppliers and updating existing supplier portfolio.
- Subcontract management- including assessing supplier capabilities; knowledge of design review process; knowledge of rubber manufacturing services and process flow; knowledge of required documentation and deliverables required to build product.
- Ability to interface with engineering and documentation control.
- Item creation, assignment of Inventory, COGS and Sales accounts responsibility
- Management of price adjustments/timing in 4th shift
- Other duties as assigned by Business Support Manager
Skills
- Strong business acumen, with experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques.
- 5 Plus years’ experience in purchasing field (preferably chemicals)
- Experience with MRP systems
- Microsoft Office

- Strong communications and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.

Experience and Education
High School or equivalent / Bachelors a plus; A.P.P. (Applied Purchasing Practitioner), or C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) a plus.
