Position Summary

Will manage the overall purchasing function for production products, services, MRO and assist in the new product process; interact with groups such as engineering, sales, manufacturing, and accounting.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Outsourcing/supplier consolidation
  • Contract negotiation and cost reduction activities.
  • Overseeing purchasing of supplies and raw materials to support the business
  • Create safety stock levels based on input from scheduling to supply manufacturing with material timely.
  • Overall vendor management; creation of new suppliers and updating existing supplier portfolio.
  • Subcontract management- including assessing supplier capabilities; knowledge of design review process; knowledge of rubber manufacturing services and process flow; knowledge of required documentation and deliverables required to build product.
  • Ability to interface with engineering and documentation control.
  • Item creation, assignment of Inventory, COGS and Sales accounts responsibility
  • Management of price adjustments/timing in 4th shift
  • Other duties as assigned by Business Support Manager
Skills
  • Strong business acumen, with experience in Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • 5 Plus years’ experience in purchasing field (preferably chemicals)
  • Experience with MRP systems
  • Microsoft Office

Experience and Education

High School or equivalent / Bachelors a plus; A.P.P. (Applied Purchasing Practitioner), or C.P.M. (Certified Purchasing Manager) a plus.
